The Sleepy Eye Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Retail Association and the Convention and Visitor's Bureau, welcomes you to Sleepy Eye! Our visitor's center is full of free travel brochures and visitor's guides from area communities, outstate Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Dakotas. Our two most recent guides that the Sleepy Eye Area Chamber of Commerce produced are: 2008 Highway 14 Specialty Shop & Event Guide and Sleepy Eye: A Walking Tour Guide.

Aside from travel information, the Sleepy Eye Area Chamber of Commerce offers you a place to purchase Sleepy Eye souvenirs, ranging from postcards to ornaments, and books to t-shirts. We also have a display case full of Sleepy Eye memorabilia - old pictures, collector items and a few new things too!

The Sleepy Eye Area Chamber of Commerce, the Retail Association and the Convention and Visitor's Bureau are responsible for many of the events and promotions that take place throughout the year, such as the Shopping Spree, the Ish-Tak-Ha-Ba Basketball Tournament, the Buttered Corn Days Celebration, visits from Santa, and many more.

The Chamber of Commerce has come a long way since its early years. The earliest record of the Chamber shows that it was started sometime in the early 1930s. The Chamber of Commerce met in many different locales in the early years. In 2001, the Chamber of Commerce moved to its current office, located at 115 2nd Avenue NE. Through the years, the Sleepy Eye Area Chamber of Commerce has continued to work to preserve the competitive enterprise system of business and promote business and community growth and development.
